Froud Creations
For Valentine's day my best guy and I were supposed to head out of town but that obviously didn't happen since I ended up in the hospital. Instead, he decided to surprise me with a class that I wanted to take... in Portland... with Wendy Froud!!!!
Wendy taught the very first sculpting class I ever took. She is an amazing, talented, genuine lady, who makes sculpting fun. Her creations are stunning and it is so much fun just to be in a group with her. The added bonus is that her son Toby will also be teaching during the class. He is another talented artist that I have had the privilege of knowing and learning from.
The picture above is from the first class I took. The doll on the left was created by Toby and the doll on the right was created by Wendy. It was thrilling to watch their creative processes in action!
The 3 day class begins April 3rd and I am already ready to go. I am really looking forward to seeing how my skills have progressed since that first class. Once I return I'll be sharing pictures of the class as well as my very first sculpture and the one that I create in class.
Wow! I would love to meet The Frouds! That would be so amazing! Although I still have trouble thinking of Toby as anything other than the baby from Labyrinth! The fact that they give classes gives me hope to meet them some day, just need a plane ticket and to book a class...
ReplyDeleteLaura, the Frouds truly are wonderful! If you ever get the chance to take a class with them - do it! I've taken several classes from both Wendy and Toby and had so much fun just hanging out with them. Plus I learned so much! The experiences were worth every penny!
