It's Tea Time!

Welcome to my tea party for the 1st annual themed tea party blog hop being hosted by Sara over at Classicalhomemaking.com. Here is a link that has the list of all of the blogs participating in the themed tea party blog hop: https://www.classicalhomemaking.com/2020/08/2020-themed-tea-party-blog-hop-vintage.html Scroll to the bottom to find the rest of the parties!

I have missed participating in blog parties and I had such a great time putting this together.

Look at the time… it is obviously Tea time!

I am glad you decided to stop by for a spot of tea… watch that rabbit, if you follow him you never know where you may end up!

Looks like one of our guests was here and forgot his hat! That’s ok, he’ll be back soon

We have several different teas for you to sample, there is vanilla orchid, hibiscus, earl gray and even a vanilla chai and if you are a daring soul, you can even add a little something extra to your tea

So many fun things are planned for us today. I hope you get to enjoy them all

I hope you like fresh cherries and cake. The Flamingo’s certainly do!

It is a fine day for a tea party, the sun is shining, the shade is oh so nice under the tree and these treats just hit the spot!

As the sun sets, there is still time for tea under the warm glow of the mushrooms.

Thank you for stopping by, I had a wonderful time and hope you did too! I am off to visit the other parties. I hope to see you at one or two of them

Welcome to my Mad Tea Party

Mad Tea Party 2016

Welcome to my Mad Tea Party 2016.
A BIG thank you to Vanessa from A Fanciful Twist
for hosting this wonderful party once again.
Every year I look forward to this event.
It is fun to participate in and a joy to explore.

Be sure to stop by Vanessa's party for a visual treat as well as
links to all of the parties being held today.

The tarts are fresh and the cupcake rich and creamy. Both are perfect with tea.

Be careful of the tiny bottle you see tucked among the flowers.
It's pretty and the flavor is most delicious but also quite potent.
Drink at your own risk!

The Flamingos are always happy to see you.
They love a good party, especially if there are treats.
This one put on his best scarves for the day.

The White Rabbit was here for a while
but he was late for another engagement and had to run,
If you happen to see him please let him know he left his hat!

The tea is ready.

Please help yourself to some treats.

I hope you enjoy your time with me this year.
The weather is beautiful and the company is quirky and fabulous.

Thank you for stopping by. I hope to see you at the next stop.

This year I am giving away a clay Alice in Wonderland themed directional sign post. Below is a sample that I am still finishing :0). Its ROUGH (obviously)! The winner will get to choose 5 words or short phrases for their sign post. Colors will be the same or similar to those shown.

To be entered into this random drawing you must be a follower of this blog and leave a comment below. I will draw a name using a random number generator (number is based on the number of your comment) on Saturday August 13th. Winner must claim their prize by August 20th or another name will be drawn.

Before you leave let me share with you a silly story about something that happened this morning, as I was setting up my party...

My son and his friend (both 19) were sitting in our living room playing a game when I walked through the house with a life sized flamingo in one hand, a table in the other while wearing a white rabbit top hat. Normally, they never pay attention to me when they are playing games. Today they both looked up as I was heading towards the back door. They looked at me, looked each other and went back to their game. Since I've been doing blog parties not much surprises my son or his friends. They know that they get to play too and help sample the goodies that are left over.

See you at the next party...

Welcome to the White Rabbit's Mad Tea

Thank you for stopping by my Mad Tea Party! And a super big thank you to Vanessa over at AFancifulTwist.com for hosting another magical blog party! Be sure to stop by her blog for what is certain to be a stunning visual treat as well as the place to find the links to all the participating blogs in this year's Mad Tea Party.

Now... on to the White Rabbit's Mad Tea,

Our host is late, as usual. This time he sort of has a reason, he left his pocket watch on the table! Poor rabbit! I hope he doesn't miss out on the party!

We've prepared some delicious treats for you. Coconut cake, Chocolate cake, even some French Vanilla cupcakes for those of you with discerning tastes.

This chair is reserved for someone special... YOU! So please have a seat and choose a treat. I'l get you some tea, we have quite a selection. I'm sure our host will be here soon.

The flamingos think they are incognito, since they brought flowers we'll let them stay and enjoy some tea.

Be careful with these little bottles, I'm not sure what's in them but the last girl who drank some had quite an unexpected journey. I'd be happy to get you some tea...unless you are up for an adventure!

Poor Rabbit, he left both his clocks on the table. Hopefully he'll be here soon!

Yay! looks like he made it after all, shy guy. Give him a few minutes to get some tea and I'm sure he'd love to visit with you. Oh the tales he has, after all he lives in quite a wondrous place...

I hope you enjoy yourself while you are here. I'll be out visiting other parties this weekend. I can never get enough Mad Tea!

One last thing...

Follow my blog and then leave a comment on this post for a chance to win this set of Wonderland themed dish towels. I'll be doing a random drawing on July 25th. and contact the winner via email. Be sure I am able to contact you through your profile. Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

*****

I had grand plans for my party this year but my surgery took the wind out of my sails for almost 3 months then the rains set in this past month which is highly unusual for Northern Nevada, so I was not able to get some of my projects done. In fact, I've been out of the blogging world for way too long! I'm happy to report I am back and should be blogging regularly now. I still have those fun projects to complete, they will now be for next years tea, and they'll be featured here as I work on them. I also have some great pieces  that I am working on for the craft fair I am doing in October and for the Polymer Clay challenges. I've missed my blog and am so happy to be back!

Welcome to a Mad Tea Party

Welcome to my Mad Tea Party. A big Thank You to Vanessa at A Fanciful Twist for hosting this fantastic event. There are lots of stops on this blog party, for a complete list be sure to visit A Fanciful Twist.

I'm glad you were able to stop by. It looks like we interrupted someone's painting project.

Of course, I knew  we were in the right place when I saw those flowers. Too bad the painters decided not to join us. Well, come on in and let's see who is here.

Everything looks ready. Don't those cookies look good. Please, help yourself! There are plenty.

It looks like we've gotten here before the white rabbit though he did drop off a time piece as a gift earlier this morning. He is so thoughtful that way. He's probably out visiting others so he'll most likely be a bit late. Typical!

I know the hatter is here somewhere. Yep, there he is. For some reason he has decided to keep to himself. I think he is nervous that I'll let someone take him home. I'm sure he'll come out and visit once I assure him I've created something else to give away today.

That silly flamingo sure gets around! He was out back playing games just a few minutes ago. I think he is here for moral support for the hatter.

Don' t you just love tea parties! Have a seat and I'll get you some tea.

While you are here, take a minute to follow my blog and leave a comment to be entered to win a set of two Alice in Wonderland themed embroidered tea towels. I am almost done the embroidery and will have the pictures posted on Sunday. I will be drawing a winner randomly on the evening of Monday, July 21st.

Thanks for stopping by. The Hatter, decked out in all his finery, will be making an appearance on the blog soon, along with some mummies with glow in the dark eyes, and a couple of book goblins. I hope you'll visit with me again and see all of the fun things I am working on!

**Update** Here is a sneak peek of the Red Queen embroidered tea towel. This set will have the Red Queen and the Mad Hatter. They are almost finished and will be posted soon.

If you are travelling on the the next party I'm sure to see you again soon!

Thanks for stopping by :0)

Almost Complete!

The Mad Hatter

I wasn't sure about this color, it is the color of a carrot and a bit unruly which is why I decided to go for it and I am thrilled with the results. Once he has his hat on it should really look great.

Here he is, ready for his costume. I know he looks a bit lumpy and his hair is wild but once he has clothes on he'll look fine - kind of like me LOL Anyway, I have some fabric for his clothes and I am pretty sure he approves. We'll see this week. I can't wait to see how he turns out!!

Check back soon to see the Mad Hatter in all his finery then stay tuned for the Mad Tea party and the Where Bloggers Create party - both on July 12th and the Book Goblin process which will begin once the hatter is complete.

For the Where Bloggers Create party I will be cleaning the studio and posting lots of pictures of where I work on my art. I am looking forward to that process and sharing the results here.

New Work in Progress!

Yep, that's me!

I had to submit some additional photos of me actually creating my figures for the juried craft fair that I applied for so I decided to get started on another Mad Hatter. I am not sure whether he'll be staying here or finding a new home at the Mad Tea party in July so you may want to stop by here on July 12th just to see what he decides ;0)! It promises to be quite the event!

Here is where he is right now. I'll be posting progress pictures as I complete him. This guy isn't a zombie which is good and bad, the zombies are so much fun to create I'll eventually have to make one for myself. As for this guy, I am really excited about making another Mad Hatter! I still have some of that awesome fabric left over from the Hatter in Zombieland sculpture and it is so lush I may use it, then again, he may demand his own style which means I have get to shop!

Either way, he is really excited to finally be started.

A Hatter in Zombieland

This is the latest project I've completed.  He just arrived at his new home and I miss him already! This was part of an online doll swap. Our challenge was to choose a character from Alice in Wonderland and zombify them! I chose the do the Mad Hatter and I had such a great time with him.

I've been away from my blog for almost a year and I am working hard on getting back on track. I have lots of new sculptures to share and another show coming up! I hope to update with new pictures next week.

Stay tuned :0)
